Church & coaching
I planted True Life Church in 2012 and have served as its lead pastor ever since. My work includes preaching, developing leaders, pastoral care, and helping our church reach people who have little connection to Christianity or have stepped away from church.
Before planting True Life, I pastored at a megachurch, with experience in newcomer connection, church operations, and community groups. I built and coached teams, developed leaders, and led fundraising efforts. I then parachute planted True Life from the ground up. That range of experience informs the practical help I bring to other pastors.
I’ve also coached church planters, assessed dozens through Acts 29, and served as a cohort leader and Area Lead for Denver-area churches.
Education & teaching
I hold a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from Covenant Theological Seminary, a master’s degree in biblical counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Missional Leadership from Resurgence Training Center.
My doctoral research, Drawn to Jesus: Pathways to Faith in a Secular Age, explored how adults come to Christian faith. It informs how I think about reaching people in a post-Christian culture.
I’ve also taught online through CCEF and Westminster, helping students connect their learning with the care of real people. I bring that same connection between biblical understanding and practical action to my coaching.
Writing & speaking
I’m the author of When Faith Feels Dry: Rediscovering Joy in God, and my writing has appeared at The Gospel Coalition, 9Marks, and For the Church. I write, preach, and teach about faith, marriage, and ministry—the things I’m learning as I follow Jesus and serve the people around me.
