Church planting and beyond. For new and experienced pastors.
Whether you’re preparing to plant or have been pastoring for years, we can work through a set of modules on core ministry topics—or focus on whatever you’re needing most.
I’ve pastored in a megachurch and parachute planted a church from the ground up. My experience includes church operations, newcomer connection, and community groups—building teams, developing leaders, and helping launch new work.
Since 2012, I’ve led True Life Church in Arvada. I know the hands-on work of preaching, raising up leaders, and building ministry teams.
I’ve also coached church planters, assessed dozens through Acts 29, and served as a cohort leader and Area Lead for Denver-area churches. I bring that range of experience to the questions you’re facing in your own context.
My doctoral research, Drawn to Jesus: Pathways to Faith in a Secular Age, explored how adults come to Christian faith. That work informs how I help pastors think through reaching people in a post-Christian culture.
Reach your community, fund the vision, and develop the people who will carry it forward. We can work through these core topics or focus on what your church needs most.
DRAWING ON MY DOCTORAL RESEARCH
Reaching a post-Christian culture
Understand the questions, assumptions, and longings of people outside the faith. We’ll work on evangelism, church community, and preaching that help people explore Christianity and take steps toward Jesus.
FUND THE VISION
Fundraising campaigns
Plan a campaign with a goal of raising twice your church’s annual budget. Develop a clear case for support, giving goals, donor conversations, and a practical follow-up plan.
Vision & strategy
Clarify where your church is going, communicate the vision, and translate it into practical priorities.
Elder development
Identify and develop qualified elders, strengthen shared leadership, and build a pathway for future elders.
Building ministry teams
Recruit, equip, and organize people to serve with clear roles and a shared sense of purpose.
Staff & leader development
Identify, train, and coach staff and emerging leaders. Clarify roles, build a healthy team culture, and entrust responsibility as people grow.
Discipleship & community
Build pathways for helping people follow Jesus and grow together. Develop small groups, connect newcomers, and equip people to disciple others in everyday life.
Annual planning
Turn your vision into a workable year: priorities, calendar, budget, responsibilities, and rhythms for review.
THE 11 ACTS 29 CORE COMPETENCIES
Grow as you lead.
These eleven areas give us a framework for your growth as a planter or pastor. Drawing on the Acts 29 competencies I’ve used in assessing church planters, we can focus on the areas where you need encouragement, clarity, or practical development.
Select a competency to see what we can work on.
Spiritual Vitality

Deepen your dependence on Jesus through prayer, Scripture, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Build rhythms that nourish your own faith as you pastor others.

Connect sound doctrine and the Bible’s story of redemption with everyday ministry. Let the gospel shape your preaching, pastoral care, decisions, and church culture.
Conviction & Commendation
+
Clarify your calling to plant or pastor and consider the affirmation of trusted church leaders. Look honestly at your gifts, ministry fruit, and readiness for the work.
Healthy Marriage
+
Strengthen friendship, affection, partnership, and forgiveness in your marriage. Make room for your wife and family while carrying the responsibilities of ministry.
Healthy Relationships
+
Grow in listening, empathy, hospitality, and peacemaking. Build and maintain healthy friendships and relationships with people inside and outside the church.
Godly Leadership
+
Shepherd with clarity, humility, and sacrificial care. Develop elders and other leaders, communicate vision, entrust responsibility, and lead through challenges without becoming domineering.
Spiritual Maturity
+
Grow in Christlike character, self-awareness, and resilience. Learn to receive feedback, pursue accountability, and keep developing personally as you lead others.
Missional Lifestyle
+
Make sharing your life and faith part of your normal week. Understand your community, build genuine relationships beyond the church, and help your people do the same.
Disciple-Making
+
Develop a practical pathway for helping people follow Jesus and mature in faith. Connect preaching, small groups, and personal relationships with making disciples who disciple others.
Ability to Teach
+
Study and communicate Scripture faithfully, clearly, and with Christ at the center. Adapt your teaching to the people you serve and make application concrete.
Entrepreneurial Aptitude
+
Turn a vision for new ministry into practical action. Recruit people, work resourcefully, organize the details, and build a realistic plan for starting and sustaining the work.
YOUR CONTEXT. YOUR PRIORITIES.
Two ways to work together.
Work through the modules.
Take a structured approach to the core topics of planting and leading a church. We’ll connect each area with practical work in your ministry.
Bring what you need most.
Start with the challenge, decision, or area of growth in front of you. Coaching can focus on that need and adapt as your priorities change.
PRACTICAL TOOLS
Bring the plan into the week.
Useful starting points for our work together. The ministry packs below are proposed additions to the tool collection.
01
Annual ministry plan
Turn vision into a small number of priorities, owners, dates, and a monthly review rhythm.
Prices in USD. Package prices cover the full package. Sessions are by video. We’ll agree dates and payment arrangements before coaching begins.
Can coaching focus on what I need most? +
Yes. We’ll agree on your goals and focus before starting. You can choose a single session or a package, and additional sessions are $135 each.
How do I get started? +
Request a free 30-minute consultation and share a little about your situation. It’s a chance to discuss your needs and the coaching options before choosing a plan.
Is this only for a new church plant? +
No. Coaching is for new planters and experienced pastors. We’ll choose modules or focus on the leadership challenges you’re facing now.
What will I leave a session with? +
We’ll aim to clarify the current question, choose a practical action, and decide what to review next. A useful next step might be a plan for reaching your community, a fundraising campaign outline, a team plan, or a leadership rhythm.
Is this an official Acts 29 assessment? +
No. My church planting, doctoral research, and assessment experience inform the coaching, but this is independent coaching. Formal network assessment and approval remain separate processes.
